Norman E. Bramley Annual Open Golf Tournament - September 15th, 2012
Hosted at the Hidden Valley Golf Club
Norman Bramley was a much-loved area resident in whose memory his friends and family chose to honor with the annual Norman E. Bramley Open Golf Tournament. What is more, they chose as the beneficiary of the tournament's proceeds to go to the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) which assists people such as Mr. Bramley.
Mr. Bramley became blind as an adult. He continued his social, fatherly, and neighborly duties after adapting to his blindness through learning skills to navigate his world.
His friends and family carry on his legacy of good will by helping to organize a benefit for the vision rehabilitation resource for such life skills.
The tournament's net proceeds for 2011 reached $18,500. Since 2000, the tournament has raised over $198,500. The proceeds from the tournament will help to meet the needs of more than 1300 blind and visually impaired persons throughout central New York.
